Since the last post, Geoffrey and Kymberli have graduated. And we made it through both of them. We celebrated with Kymberli after her ceremony by going out to dinner with our extended family and Geoffrey went to Grad Night at Disneyland immediately following his ceremony. Whew! And then summer vacation officially began...
Geoffrey is filling his time with volunteering at the public library and a part-time job with his friend Travis at his mother's stationery shop. They move items in the warehouse and package products. He also has a special trip planned with Grandpa Max in July (a fabulous graduation gift) to Illinois to see some Frank Lloyd Wright homes and to Arizona to visit Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright's west coast school of architecture. This is a dream trip for him. He is so excited!! Look forward to posting photos after his trip.
Jakob is spending most of his time "plugged in" (when he decides to get up). He is perfecting his skills on his Xbox and his games of choice are Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3. He is definitely enjoying his time as a teenager. He also has a great trip planned this summer. He will be traveling at the end of this month with Aunt Tricia to Pittsburgh. They will spend a week visiting Uncle Jeremy and family. They are planning a quick trip into DC while he's there. This will be his first visit there, so it will be really exciting for him. He is also looking forward to his trip. It's always nice to get to do something special that others are not. Will post pictures of this trip, too!
Kymberli has just finished summer school so she has not had much vacation yet. In fact, Grandma Charlotte has just whisked her away to Pismo Beach for 5 days for her own little vacation. This is not as glamorous as the trips that the boys have planned but she will get to be with her cousin Cari and they will have a blast! She is also anticipating marching band camp at the end of July. She is learning a new instrument this summer in preparation for next year. She is taking piccolo lessons in hopes that she will be able to play that for the band. She will also be starting soccer conditioning at the end of July. How she will be able to manage all of these activities at once, I haven't figured out yet. But we will.
As for family plans, it's a rather uneventful summer. With all of the kids individual activities, planning something as a family becomes more complicated. We had planned to go to Hume Lake this next week, but due to septic tank issues, that trip was postponed. Hopefully we will make it up there for a family weekend in August. We also have planned a family trip to Pismo. This will be our one last attempt at a nice family vacation before we send Geoffrey off to college in August. Hopefully, we can keep it low-key and relaxing but have some special activities to make it memorable. We'll keep you posted!

I'm glad to here your report on Jakob!! Because it sounds just like my teenagers!!! Same games!! If he has Xbox Live, we should hook them up, and they can play each other!!
What I love most about this post is Tilly's polka-dot dress!
