This weekend

Jakob was selected to participate in the Wildland Firefighter Explorer Academy that began this weekend. This will be four weekends of rigorous classroom and field training in wildland fire suppression and prevention. This will be excellent experience for him and should give him a "leg up" in becoming hired on as a fire fighter in the future. When he completes the course (in April) he will be qualified as a Wildland Firefighter II.

Kymberli just competed in her first track meet since 6th grade. She ran the 4x100m relay and the 100m hurdles. Since this was just an invitational, it was more like a practice meet. Thank goodness since she ran in the wrong hurdles heat and was DQd. Her times were reasonable. Although she did give her mother a heartattack when she stumbled after the last hurdle!! Total repeat of her hurdle run at the valley meet in Fresno in 5th grade-she practically stumbled in the same place! She did however recover very nicely this time :)
