Catching up...

May has proven to be a busy month, as usual. With soccer games, Fire Explorer events, decorating projects and end of school activities, we've been busy!! Let me highlight a few:

Gus is getting bigger these days. He had his first vet visit at 9 weeks. He is over 3 lbs. now. We must have done something right because he is thriving! And he is following suit to Megan's prediction that he would be a booger! :) Still so cute, though!

Jakob has had some senior activites recently. He went to his Baccalaureate last Sunday night. It was very nice and our first chance to see him in his cap and gown. Oh my goodness has he grown up!

He also just had his Senior Awards night. He was recognized for receiving a book scholarship as a President's Scholar for BC and he also received a medal as an Outstanding Student for the Woodshop. And you should see some of the projects he has completed! They are great! One (an intricate fire truck) has even been submitted to the Sacramento State Fair for judging. We hope he kicks butt!!

We have also had some decorating projects recently. I have wanted (and needed) new carpet in the bedrooms for several years now. I finally decided that this was the year. And while talking about that, Jakob said he was ready to change his room. He had gotten tired of camoflauge. Ok, that means painting everything from his ceiling to his furniture. Yikes, that's a lot of stuff to do. Then, after bringing home great paint samples for Jakob, Kymberli decided that she wanted her room repainted because after all, "she didn't pick out the current colors." Ok, more painting. So my list got bigger. And, all of this has to get done BEFORE carpet goes down 'cause I am not bringing in wet paint on new carpet. Anyway, Monday was carpet day. All of the projects got finished in time (after one month of work and relocation) and they look great! And my carpet is FABULOUS!! Soft, squishy and luxurious on bare feet. Excatly what I wanted :)

Now we are just working on finishing touches to get ready for our next events...Jakob's graduation party and his graduation. And maybe in June we can catch our breath...probably not!
