Well, OK...

Apparently, I am WAAY behind in posting, so here's a hodge-podge of what's been happening around here...

The kids are out of school and would probably tell you that they "have nothing to do." Neither Jakob or Kymberli is taking summer school this year so they have a lot of time on their hands. And they choose to spend it with headphones on closed up in their rooms. Not my idea of time well-spent, but it reduces the number of arguments between them significantly! :) Geoffrey stayed in Fresno this summer. He has a few part-time jobs that he would like to keep for the fall, so he decided that needed to stay there. He has found an apartment and is discovering the joys of the "real world." And is becoming quite the cook, I might add! :)

We have hosted several Mom and Kids Swim Days at our house so far. Moms in our church with swimming pools open up their homes for other moms and their kids to come swim during the summer. Since our attendance has dropped at church, there are only a few of us left with pools, so we have become a once a week swim place. I really enjoy it. I love seeing the kids enjoy my pool and I love seeing my pool used. And then, it makes me clean my house once a week (like I should anyway) because I know people are coming over. It's been really nice. And one week, it was so cool, that the kids hardly swam because they said the water was too cold! Too cold in Bakersfield in June, can you believe it?

Kids trying to warm themselves at Swim Day

This last week the kids and I joined my mom in Pismo. She has a great new home and it's really nice to hang out there. It was relaxing and the weather was great. Kymberli and I were able to spend a few hours on the beach one day. We took several walks to the pet store in hopes of bringing home the puppy we fell in love with (no such luck). We also went to the end of the pier to whale watch (not any significant sightings, lots of spouting, and we did catch a glimpse of one coming out of the water a bit). Since it was Father's Day, Dad and Eric joined us for the weekend. The big Pismo car show is always at this time so that was a nice activity. It was really fun to look at all the great cars and get ideas for the 2 project cars that are at our house. And we had two evenings with Grandpa Marvin and Grandma Nadene coming and joining us for dinner. Gary was even with us for dinner one night, and that's the night we laughed our butts off! It was a really nice week :)

Loving on the puppy that didn't make it home with us :(

Happy Father's Day, Eric!

We are home now and back in the groove of nothingness and medical appointments. I think we will finally finish all our appointments this month. Kymberli has had 2 moles removed this month and Jakob has had to have a root canal. It has been a really expensive June. We also hope to be going back to Pismo for the 4th of July, we'll see how that goes. Then our next big activity is a trip to Hume Lake with our little girls and their parents. We always have such a great time there. Can't wait! We'll keep you posted...
