We're still here...

We have not fallen off the face of the earth, as it might seem! Life just got busy! Since our last post, many activities in our lives have ended (whew!) Geoffrey and Jakob's marching band field show competitions have ended. After 4 weekends in a row of competition, Foothill's Trojan Marching Band faired pretty well. Under the direction of their new band director, the ended the season with two 1st place and a 3rd place finish in Division AA. Not bad at all! And they even gave an encore performance when their football team made it to the Division 3 Championship game. Go trojans! Kymberli's soccer season has also come to an end. Her team (The Showstoppers) made it to the AYSO Region 181 Under 14 Girls play-offs. They finished in 4th place! She displays a lovely medal to show all their hard work.

Thanksgiving has come and gone also. We enjoyed a lovely pre-Thanksgiving feast with Eric's family complete with all of the trimmings! What a great way to start the holiday. Then we traveled to Pismo Beach with Stephanie's parents for a low key turkey day. We had a not-so-traditional meal of tri-tip and baked potatoes. That was just as yummy! It was really nice to relax and do a little shopping, and just take it easy for a couple of days. We did have a family outing to the Monarch Butterfly Grove. Known as the "Butterfly Trees", this was a really cool sight to see. Monarchs from far away fly south to the eucalytptus trees in Pismo to escape the cold weather. When they cluster together, they look like leaves. As you can see in the photo, it's really cool!
As we begin the busy Christmas season, we want to remind you to slow down a bit and remember why we celebrate. We've already been given the best gift...Jesus!
